WELCOME TO THIRD GRADE!
I'd like to welcome everyone to a new school year! Please see the New School Year Information Folder in the Class Files section of this web page. You will find a welcome letter, school supply list, your child's Unified Arts schedule, and a Homework information letter . Students will also have a homework planner to write homework in daily and to be signed by you nightly. Many school forms will be coming home this week in your child's homework folder. Thank you for taking the time to fill out and return these forms as soon as possible !
Where should I look for my child's corrected in-class work and assessments?
Students' work will be coming home daily in the "Bring Home" pocket of their homework folder. These papers present an opportunity for reviewing concepts, providing encouragement, and giving praise. So don't forget to ask your child to share these with you. Any papers that are corrected at home should be returned to me. Thanks for your continued support!
Students were given a homework planner and a red homework folder on the first day of school. These two tools really help to keep students' organized and serve as a communication piece between parent/guardian and teacher. Each day, students are given time to write down their homework in the planner. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) should then sign at the bottom of each column when they see that the homework has been completed. Also, please feel free to write notes to me down below this space as well. Thank you for your cooperation and support!
MULTIPLICATION RACE TESTS
Students are working on passing 24 multiplication facts in 60 seconds. The order the facts will be tested is on the Fact Fluency Log. Their goal is to pass the 0's through 10's. The 11's and 12's facts would be a PLUS! Suggestions for practicing at home are on the top of the fact practice sheet. The sheets are handed out on Monday and are due by Friday with your initials for each day practiced. After multiplication, the same sequence of facts will be tested in Division. Thank you for partnering with your child as they strive to meet this goal!
